Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer Honors Firefighters

“The courage these brave men exemplified in the face of such adversity is a sign of their good will and dedication to the community they serve,” said Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer. “It is with great honor that we acknowledge their service as we continue to strive to keep every last fire house open throughout the City of New York.”

On November 18th, in the early hours of the morning, a two-alarm fire engulfed a two story-home, at 40-38 61st St., Woodside, displacing 25 individuals, including four children. 106 firefighters were on hand to combat the blaze with Rescue 4 and Engine 292 leading the fight.

Since the fire, Council Member Van Bramer held both a food and clothing drive for the affected families in an effort to address their needs immediately after being displaced.
