On Sunday, December 18th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer joined Father Joseph Jerome at All Saints Church Episcopal Church in Sunnyside where the congregation welcomed Bishop Lawrence C. Provenzano.
On December 17th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer visited his alma mater, St. John's University, where he joined his former Professor Oscar Holt and the mock trial team. A founding member of the original mock trial team, Van Bramer highlighted the importance of the skills that are learned in mock trial and how they can be used as tools of public service.
On Saturday, December 17th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer attended the 108th Precinct Community Council's Christmas Party for Children at Sunnyside Community Services in Sunnyside. The event, which was organized through the hard work of Diane Ballek and the precinct, delivered toys to many kids in need this holiday season.

On December 16th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, Chair of the Cultural Affairs and Libraries Committee at the New York City Council held a joint hearing with Margaret Chin, Chair of the Committee on Lower Manhattan Redevelopment on Friday, December 16th to discuss the future of the South Street Seaport Museum.
On December 15th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer attended the CEC 30 meeting and called on the School Construction Authority to fulfill their promise to build an annex to ease overcrowding at P. S. 11. This year, P.S. 11 is at 117% capacity. Council Member Van Bramer has been working on this issue.
On December 15th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer attended the Woodside Senior Center's annual holiday party at Riccardo’s by the Bridge in Astoria. The Council Member, who funds the annual celebration, danced merengue with many of the seniors in attendance.
On Thursday, December 15th, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer read The Polar Express to preschoolers during story time at Malu Homemade Ice Cream, Chocolate and Confections on Jackson Avenue in Long Island City. Malu is known for their exotic ice cream flavors and their newest creation – “Jimmy Van Berry” ice cream– honors the City Council Member. “Jimmy Van Berry” is blueberries, strawberries, and a chocolate fudge swirl mixed in vanilla ice cream. Malu is located at 12-09 Jackson Ave in Long Island City. Stop by and try a scoop of “Jimmy Van Berry.”
